A somewhat more surprising result for 2012, in second place was basic IT skills. It appears that more than thirty years after the first Personal Computers were introduced into the workplace, 17% of workers still feel that their basic IT skills are lacking. One answer for this could be that although the vast majority of office workers in the UK can navigate the basic Microsoft packages, being able to utilise the full potential of the programmes remains elusive. Public Speaking was the next most sought after with 11% of the votes and organisation and delegation skills following up with 9% and 7% respectively.
